What Is a Shared Wedding Gallery?

A shared wedding gallery is a link-shared page of photos from the wedding. In WedPOV it is /g/{slug}, filled by the live guest camera, revealed when the host chooses.

After a wedding, photos live in the worst possible places: AirDrop graveyards, a Drive folder named ‘finalFINAL’, a cousin’s Instagram grid, and a photographer gallery with a password you will lose. A shared wedding gallery is the decision that there is one URL you are willing to text in a thank-you.

WedPOV’s gallery is the end of a pipeline, not a generic inbox. Live camera shots land in storage (Cloudflare R2 or Supabase Storage), then the gallery. We do not position this as ‘unlimited camera-roll dump.’ If you wanted that, upload hubs exist. We wanted finite live POV plus a place to see it later.

Reveal is a host control. Guests should not stumble into unflattering cocktail-hour frames while you are still in portraits. We do not sell a live slideshow product; if you need that, other tools advertise it — including in our compare tables.

Hosting is not forever on unpaid capture. Pro keeps the gallery 12 months after the wedding date. Platinum 24. Do not promise a decade of hosting in a speech. Send the link while it is alive. Download what you want to keep locally if the years matter more than the URL.

Why couples search this

Drive folders rot. AirDrop is not a guest strategy. A gallery with a known URL and a hosting window is something you can send once.

How it works in practice

One pipeline

Camera → storage → /g/{slug}. Not a file-upload inbox with mystery folders.

Hosting windows

12 months on Pro, 24 on Platinum. Free live camera is a limited trial, not unpaid forever-hosting.

No guest accounts to view

Same rule as RSVP and camera. Hosts sign in. Guests open a link.

Thank-you text

The close of the product is sending /g/{slug}, not chasing 40 phones.

Common mistakes

Live-publishing during dinner

Reveal when you can look. Host control exists for a reason.

Promising unlimited forever

Plans have months. Say the number.

Using the gallery QR as the camera

Viewing is not shooting. Print the camera code for the room.

Not the same as

Photographer proofing gallery

Different owner, different password, posed work. Keep both if you hired someone.

Google Drive

Accounts and decay. Fine as a backup download, weak as the guest-facing URL.

Live slideshow products

A reception display job. We do not claim it. Compare pages say ‘not yet’ where that is true.

Checklist

  • Do not share /g/{slug} until you have revealed.
  • Download keepers if you care past the hosting window.
  • Send one link, not six albums.
  • Keep the photographer gallery separate in the thank-you so guests know which is POV.
  • Remember guests never need a WedPOV login to look.

FAQ

Can guests upload from camera roll into the gallery?

The designed path is live camera capture, not an unlimited Recents dump. That is positioning, not a checkbox we pretend exists.

When do guests see photos?

When the host reveals the gallery. You are not forced into a live slideshow.

How long does it stay up?

12 months on Pro, 24 on Platinum, counted from the wedding date hosting rules in entitlements.

Do guests need an account to view?

No.

Is this the photographer’s gallery?

No. That is usually a separate proofing site. Guest POV is this URL.

Put the definition on a real wedding page.

Free website. Live guest camera from $49 Pro. Guests never make an account.
